Hoof Support has been formulated to support healthy hoof growth in horses.  It contains copper, which is an essential trace mineral that is required in the horse’s diet to support many functions, one being proper hoof growth and hoof wall formation. Low levels of copper has also been linked to dull and fading (so called bleached) coat color in dark horses.

Zinc is an essential mineral that, together with copper, are needed for the production of keratin, a protein that is found in hair and hooves. Horses with low levels of zinc and copper might also have frizzy and discolored coats. Deficiency is mostly noted in darker colored horses as zinc is needed for melanin production, giving the coat its darker color. Zinc is also essential in maintaining a healthy immune system and healthy skin. We use Bioplex zinc which is a highly absorbable source of zinc.

Methionine is an amino acid that supports healthy hooves and joints, and is needed for protein synthesis in the body. Horses with dry, cracking hooves may benefit from Methionine supplementation in their diet. It is excellent to help maintain the skin and coat, as well as supports muscle and hoof health. Methionine promotes a broad range of body functions in the horse.

Biotin supports hoof growth, healthy and better hoof wall wall quality, and is necessary for cell growth. Biotin has long been the go-to as a supplement to maintain and better hoof structures. Studies have shown that is helps the hoof horn grow faster, and also improves the tensile strength of the hoof, allowing it to resist cracking under pressure. It is essential for wound healing and for maintaining healthy skin and hair. It boosts energy metabolism and may be helpful in improving insulin resistance in horses with Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS).

Magnesium is a macro-mineral that horses need for general health and performance. It is required for the production of protein. It can help horses deal with stress, it supports proper nerve and muscle function, and can improve hoof health. It is essential for brain and nerve function, supports recovery after exercise,  and help prevent laminitis and plenty more.
